Short story members & guest DAMPcrew 9 &10 March
Lo Caidahl. Born 1955 in Falköping Sweden. Today he is living and working in Göteborg where he studied at the College of Photograhy and Film and Valands Academy of Art. He works with video, photography, sound and objects but has also written two books on art and artists. His ?Konstens anspråk? (The Claims of Art) was published in 1999 and ?Konstnärer i samtal? (Conversations With Artists) in 2004. For some years, he was publisher of the art magazine ?Paletten?. In recent years, he has become increasingly interested in the encounter between sound and moving pictures out of which has come several works. The latest is the collaboration project På himlen ? together with Lisa Peterson, Isak Eldh and Ola Åstrand.
Isak Eldh sound and visual artist, lives and works in Gothenburg. Art contains the most. - Art is something that moves forward in all directions! You can easily describe Isak Eldh as a sound artist, but then you will miss a large part of what is physically present in his art. To fully be able to take part of Isak's art you must be present in the room. You must feel the vibration and the electricity in the room. But it also demands that a visual aspect. To take sounds from vegetables is one thing, but equally important is top view the action of it. Vegetables talk both with sound and body. By experimenting non hierarchic with reality Isak makes it possible to move and change the obvious, so something else can manifest itself. What that something might be is first understood when you take part of one of Isak Eldh´s art actions. Fredric Gunve. 
Freelance dancer and visual artist, Lisa Larsdotter Petersson - After studying Philosophy, Photography, and Sculpture in Sweden Ms. Petersson went on to, among else, study Contact improvisation, Authentic movement, and Instant composition in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and The Netherlands. Using improvisation as an essential tool, Ms. Petersson now combines all of these disciplines when creating her unique installations and performances of dance-art. As well as presenting multi-disciplinary works in galleries, museums, theatres, and site-specific locations. Ms. Petersson also teach improvisation techniques to actors, dancers, and visual art students. In Gothenburg, Ms. Petersson has initiated and produced several gatherings of international and national artists who also wish to blend their disciplines by way of improvisation in live performances.
With playful creativity, Ola Åstrand seeks to manage the wave of impressions that wash over contemporary man. There is a sense of aggression in the images owing to the frustration experienced at attempting to make the chaos of the contemporary world more dealable with. Åstrand works with various techniques ? drawings, installations and paintings ? and executes them in a form of collage-work that calls the sampling and cut-and-paste culture of today to mind. Åstrand mixes together the differing aesthetics of high and popular culture. There are references in his work to comics, kitsch air-brushed portraits and the poster and billboard art of the 1960s. Like a kind of contemporary pop artist, he is interested in the phenomena of late capitalist mass culture, where the private has become part of the public and the playful and the mad can be a deadly serious form of protest. _{The group has made 6 performances along the west cost of Sweden during fall -06. -07 to performances in Gothenburg.
6 Föreställningar "På himlen..." gjordes av DAMPcrew under hösten -06 på Konsthallar mm. i Vänersborg, Dals Långed, Stenungsund, Bengtsfors, Strömstads Stadshus, Skövde. Dessa skedde bl.a. med stöd från Strömstads Kommun, Stenungsunds Kommun & produktionsstöd av Västra Götalands Regionen. Föreställningarna gästades av Michael Schumacher dansare, Kennet Klemets poet, Ingemar Magnusson konstnär, André Kaliff dansare sångare. Fortsättningsvis gjordes 9 & 10 mars -07 2 föreställningar på Dansbyrån i Göteborg, gästade gjorde då återigen Michael Schumacher som nu är medlem i DAMPcrew på distans. Kvällarna fylldes även av gästande SaraLunden med band, hjälp till detta arr. fick vi av Knindisk och Koloni. Det hela genomfördes med stöd från Stiftelsen Framtidens Kultur. Den 3 mars visades dokumentation från " På himlen..." -06 på Atalantes jubileum. Dampcrew gästade Bohusläns Museum maj -07 i Uddevalla under deras performance projekt " MITTEMELLAN" .
